Dear Papas,
If someone would have told me in the 11th grade that I would be here now, with you, with our little love bug, in the space were in, this many years later; I wouldn’t have believed them. There is so much I am thankful for that I don’t think there are the right words to even start to explain. So here’s my attempt.
It’s been 3,960 days since we’ve met. Yes I still remember the day. My first day of school at a new school at I sat there alone and angry that my parents made me move. I was so rude when you approached me and then the bell rang and it took me nearly forever to find my class, only to see find you sitting in the last desk clear view of my class door I had just opened that happened to also me your class. Since that day I have watched you grow, grow into a better man everyday. Seeing you become a father to our daughter who’s just like her mama; annoying, but somehow you know what we need and what we want and you do just that.
The pride, humbleness and gratitude you take in providing for our family, the time you take to make memories with us after long work shifts; even on the most mundane adventures and ideas I have, you are always present. I am grateful for your constant unwavering commitment to our family. I am grateful for how you provide, love, protect and care for your family. I am grateful for the dedication you have to our marriage through all of the crazy turns this road has taken us on, for you growing with me instead of apart from me and for always standing by my side to support my crazy ideas.
“The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.”
Although the things you do may seem small and at times you may feel like your role is insignificant, I want to thank you for everything you do for us. I would not be the person or mother I am today without you. Thank you for holding my hair back from the nauseous mornings i’d wake up in the bathroom during pregnancy, for supporting my creativity, for always looking for ways to grow with us, building with us and for ALWAYS always e Thank you for loving us, flaws and all.
