Instagram FAQ

It’s been a long time coming, so sorry this took so long!

Just about everyday I get people who ask me tons of question about my social media like what apps do I use, etc… As much as I love talking to you all and answering your questions, I figured it’ll be easier to write it all in once place where you can come back to each time. If this post doesn’t answer your questions please feel free to message me and I’ll be sure to answer and update this post frequently!

1. What do you use to take your pictures?

At the moment just my iPhone! I always tell people, these days you don’t need a fancy camera. All you need is good lighting and your iPhone will take very good pictures!

Before I would use my Canon 70D and that is a great camera, but I wanted something smaller so I am currently in the market for  a new camera! The 70D is amazing, but it is big and heavy.

P.S. I ALWAYS take my pictures myself. I have a mini Tripod and a bluetooth button so that I don’t have to run and pose in 10 seconds!

2.  How do you edit your pictures?

So right now I only use Lightroom. I have the paid desktop version and I downloaded the mobile version because I created my own preset so the paid version let’s you sync that to your mobile version!

An alternative thats easier to use with pre-made filters is VSCO, which I used to use and occasionally use for whatever reason my personal preset isn’t cutting it or i’m looking for something different!

3.  Best way to gain followers?

This question is pretty tough to answer because the Instagram Algorithm is always changing. So although I have many followers (That I gained in the past) NOW, its harder then ever to get noticed! There are a few good tips I can give based off of what makes me follow someone and from what my followers have let me know!

• • Consistency-The more often you post, the more consistent you are on a feed

• • Engagement-When someone asks you questions, shows you love its great to acknowledge them! Follow back or show them some love on their page too!

• Connection-Anyone can post a pretty picture, but if I’m being honest there’s more to it then that… When I follow someone I follow them based on their vibe, the captions are funny, relatable or just witty! No one wants to follow someone who seems like a robot. We’re all human, just be yourself!

4. How to become an ambassador?

I am only an ambassador for 1 shop (Itzy Ritzy). I don’t usually do ambassadors programs because they require a lot and your usually not getting paid for it, with that said if I do take on the role as an ambassador it’s because I genuinely am obsessed with that company.

To be am ambassador, most shops just host searches through their instagram. They will probably ask you to post the image to your page or to fill out a form that is usually in their link! What they look for are images that fit their brand on your page. You can enter these searches on instagram from your favorite shops when they host them.

5.  What y’all probably meant to ask me: How to get sponsored?

There is no solid answer to this because I do not know how other people have started doing this, I only know my experience! For me I started working with companies by tagging them in pictures where I featured them in! Some brands reached out and some I never heard from, but its ok! I also recommend trying small shops first! Support your local community!

I would have some brands ask me if they could repost my image (which is great exposure)! It’s literally this simple! Tag those brands, they will see it!!

6. Is it fun to be sponsored?

It is for me. I only work with brands that I have researched or have used before and this makes me admire what I do because I genuinely love and use these products on the daily anyway! If there is any advice I can give to you,  is stay true to why you started doing this.
