Everyone thinks that they need a fancy expensive camera to take pictures of quality for Instagram blog post and pretty much everything. Truth is you don’t. It’s 2020 and I don’t think they make cell phones without cameras anymore and that’s honestly all you need. I do have fancy cameras but I rarely use them. I created this blog post because I have a few tips to share with you on how to get professional looking photos with just your iPhone.
1. Grid On Iphone
Turn on your grid setting on your iPhone. This helps you with making sure photos are centered and aligned evenly.
2. Make Sure You Phone Lens Is Clean
This seems so small and like duh, but you’d be surprised the difference a simple wipe down will make! Clear clean lens is the best!
3. Know Your Angles
It’s not just enough to have great photo props. Always ALWAYS take photos from many differen angles. Mess with different angles of the same styled photo you’d be surprised the difference certain angles make!
4. Lighting Is Everything
This is the MOST important part about photography. This makes the most significant and important difference. Aim for lighting that naturally bright. Indirect sunlight is the best. When i shoot I’m always by a window. I also wait for the time of day where the sun in just shining into my home and the sun is perfect angled at my house! This is the best way to take quality photos.
5. Presets
Ugh. I’m gonna be honest. I don’t really like presets. They bring down the quality of pictures, but often time They are necessary. A good preset brightens your image and brings out more detail to your already great photo. Every preset you buy will STILL need tweaking so please be aware of that. You can’t just add a preset and go. No one takes a photo in the same lighting every time so they always need adjusting. Another great thing about presets is that your feed flows consistently and looks prettier!
This is the same photo. The one to the left is the original and the ones to the right is my custom preset! See how it makes a total difference!
If you’re interested in checking out my preset you can do so HERE.
I hope that these tips help you and save you some money because dropping $ on a camera is super expensive and these days super unnecessary when our phones taken bomb photos! Don’t forget; lighting, angles, preset, camera grid and cleaning your lens!
