How Tanaka Farms Is Operating Through Covid

Disclaimer: I was provided with complimentary entrance to Tanaka Farms to for review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Although the holidays this year are a little unconventional, The LA Mommy Blogger Tribe rolled out together to Tanaka Farms this year! Don’t worry! New safety precautions were set in place to ensure a safe, yet fun experience at the pumpkin patch. There are two different options this year for your visit. Drive-thru pumpkin patch or U-pick wagon ride. The tribe and I went with the U-pick wagon ride! Tanaka Farms is operating safely through covid and here is how!

You start off with the wagon ride. Before entering the wagon stalls, your temperature is taken! They have placed markers on where each individual party can stand. Depending on the size of your party, they will split you guys up and attach an extra wagon so you can all ride “together” and do the activities together as well! On the wagon they ask that you all still sit spaced apart and of course must wear a mask at all times. The wagon rides takes you through all of the produce they grow. We saw strawberries, blackberries, sugar cane, eggplants and more. Along the way we saw the coolest scarecrows that were apart of their contest! It was awesome to see how creative everyone got.

Regularly, when the world isn’t going through a crisis; there is a petting zoo. Since the pandemic, Takana has transformed their grounds and what was before a petting zoo, is now a drive-thru experience for the safety of their guest and volunteers who bring their animals every year! Now it’s time for the U-Pick. Every season there are different fruit and veggies. This season has brought us carrots, radishes, cilantro and the best for last PUMPKINS!
We were each given our own bags to fill! Again 6 feet apart, you go with your family through the designated area and they tell you all about the produce, show you how to pick it and also help loosen them up if its too tough! The pumpkins were last and there were SOOOO many to choose from! Still on the vines, different shapes, colors and sizes! We picked the biggest ones we could find and of course made dad hold them!

Tanaka Farms has places so many new safety precautions in place to ensure a safe visit, you can read more about it on their site. Again, there is the option to do the Drive-Thru visit in your own vehicle! You must place a reservation online you cannot just show up. My family and I felt safe visiting with all their system in place for this visit! If you happen to stop by make sure to let me, i’d love to hear how it went!

So happy to hear about all the safety measures they are taking this year. It’s one of the things I mostly look into when considering my visits. Great post and thanks for sharing it all!
